Young People

Some children are unable to engage with their learning in a traditional classroom setting.

These children are often excluded and marginalised.

Re:work provides support, training and work experience in home and garden maintenance, woodworking and retail. Our aim is to raise aspiration, to support and encourage integration with the local community and to ensure opportunities for employment and a brighter future for young people who would otherwise have very poor prospects.

Who can come here

Our training placements are term-time and benefit young people (12+) who are excluded or likely to be excluded from school or college,

are accessing alternative learning programmes, or for whatever reason find accessing the school curriculum a struggle.

We take on the most challenging individuals, including young offenders, with difficulties including behavioural issues, low levels of basic skills,

health problems, learning difficulties and family problems.

We have an excellent record for increasing the engagement, work skill levels, self esteem and the social interactions of our students.

Each placement is tailored to their needs.

Young people can expect to be treated as a member of the team, to learn about important aspects of the working world

and to go home feeling righteously tired after a hard day's work.

The cost is £100 per half day. If you wish to place one young person for a full day, the cost is £180.

Re:store placements (retail) are available Monday - Wednesday, 10.30 til 1 and 1 til 3.30

Re:grow placements (grounds maintenance) are available Monday - Thursday, 10.30 til 1 and 1 til 3.30

Workshop placements (woodworking) are available Tuesday - Friday, 9.30 til 12 and 12 til 2.30
