Our Impact

The work we do with young people is undoubtedly important and impactful, however it does not happen in a vacuum. One benefit young people get from working with us is the opportunity to help their community by volunteering in parks and gardens, reuse projects and in our shop.

98% of the young people who work with us reported that they enjoyed the activities.

81% said that they learned something new each day.

All young people reported that they had engaged in activities that built aspects like teamwork, presentation, language and/or IT skills, or had demonstrated a positive attitude like enthusiasm, problem solving or creativity.

In the last year we have worked with children from all over the city, adding something extra to their education, supporting them with their choices and valuing their work and their company.

Year round, our businesses help the people of Knowle West and beyond to keep their hedges trim,

their weeds at bay, their paint jobs tip top, their furniture on trend, and their homes energy efficient.

Consequently, many people know us because of the services we offer and not for our work with young people.

In an average year, through collecting items of unwanted household furniture and bric-a-brac,

we save over 7.5 tonnes of useful items from going to landfill.
Since January 2019 our Domestic Energy Assessors have completed 70 Energy Performance Certificates

and 7 thermal imaging surveys of domestic properties in the South Bristol area.

As members of Community Repaint, we have helped our customers redecorate their homes

and upcycle their furniture with 1170 litres of donated paint.

Our gardeners maintain community spaces across the city, and keep many, MANY gardens tidy and manageable for the residents of Knowle West.

We are passionate about a coordinated approach to meeting community needs and building a better future for the area. That's be why we're one of the founding members of The Knowle West Alliance.

Knowle West Alliance is a collaborative partnership of active and connected local residents,

businesses and organisations building and supporting positive action in Knowle West.
