Our dear friend, Victoria Morris, ran 10k in the Great Bristol Run , and raised over a thousand pounds for us! You could do it too. Click here to find out more.

Welcome to Re:work,

a social enterprise at the heart of Filwood (or Knowle West as you probably know it), supporting the community with their day to day needs while helping young people struggling in mainstream education to get out into the world and learn new skills.

Our Mission

Re:work is a registered charity situated in an area of multiple deprivation classified as the worst 10% in the country.

Since 1999, when it was established by a small group of local people, the charity has supported young offenders and young people aged 12-18 who are excluded from school or at risk of exclusion.

We also work with young adults aged 18-25 in long term unemployment.

Our aim is to raise aspiration, to support and encourage integration with the local community and to ensure opportunities for employment and a brighter future for young people who would otherwise have very poor prospects.

Each year, the lives of 30 people under 18 are transformed and a further 10 adults are helped into work, training or volunteering.

We could help many more with the right funding. At the moment, it costs £4,600 to support a young person through training

and into an apprenticeship or work placement each year.

It costs £2,100 to support a young adult in long term unemployment into work, further education or volunteering that will lead into meaningful employment.

We achieve this by:

  • offering real work experience to young people who struggle in mainstream school in landscape maintenance and gardening, and retail.
  • offering volunteering opportunities for over 16s that help develop individuals’ strengths and make a real difference to participants’ employment and training options.
  • offering low cost gardening services, and an economic and environmental way of maintaining homes with a supply of furniture, paint and small electrical items from our shop Re:store.
